As a Designer, Mario is a research-driven computational designer and architectural professional whose focus includes design and documentation phases on all project types, including commercial, artistic installations, and custom fabrication. His research and work lie at the intersection of computation, digital fabrication, and biodesign. Mario believes in the power of computational design within design, architecture, and fabrication and aims to leverage these tools to streamline and automate design workflows and processes.
In addition, Mario focuses on investigating how tradition and materials can be re-studied through advanced fabrication to deliver functional and responsive design solutions within architecture, interiors, furniture, and product design. Prior to joining BRAVE/, Mario was the lead Computational Designer and Project Manager at Protolab Architects, coordinating with engineers, fabricators, and clients on projects such as custom indoor rock-climbing walls to ensure all project deliveries were met at the highest quality. He also served as architectural adjunct professor within the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design at the University of Houston. As an emerging professional, Mario is always seeking opportunities to thrive in environments that foster collaboration, design thinking, and enthusiastic conversations to redefine the way we design and build today.
