This 4,600 SF house is located in the Pirate’s Cove neighborhood in Galveston, Texas. Designed to be used and enjoyed by a family spanning three generations, the house faces the bay side of the island. The house was laid out to make efficient use of the cul-de-sac lot in which it sits. The owners required direct views of the bay from the living and all sleeping areas.
The exterior is clad with composite fiber cement panels and features motorized hurricane shutters and shatter-proof glazing. The house is elevated to meet flooding regulations and sits on a cast-in-place concrete podium. On the ground floor there are leisure areas, a swimming pool with infinity edge, and other amenities.
The interior of the house’s public areas is open and flexible to accommodate a beach lifestyle. The second floor houses all of the public and service areas plus the master suite while the third floor includes the family’s private areas, bedrooms, and the grandchildren’s play areas.
